Diamond L. E. Miller
MS, ATC, CSCS
Diamond L. E. Miller is a former professional athlete whose career in both soccer and American football was cut short by the cumulative toll of concussions. She played professionally as a goalkeeper for the Atlanta Beat in the WUSA and the Cincinnati Ladyhawks in the W-League. Over four years Diamond was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach for Mount Saint Joseph University and has worked with other schools and leagues as an assistant soccer coach.
After numerous head injuries forced her retirement and led to a difficult period of cognitive and emotional challenges, she transformed her personal situation into a new mission to explain the science behind her own injury and advocate for others.
Diamond is now a third year PhD student at the University of Hawaiʻi, with a concentration in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science specializing in concussions and dual tasking. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Exercise Science and two Bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training and Social and Behavioral Science. She is a Graduate Assitant who works at the University of Hawaiʻi as an Instructor and is a frequent presenter on concussion awareness and management with professional organizations, high schools, athletic associations, and universities.
Diamond combines her lived experience as an athlete navigating the aftermath of head trauma with her extensive clinical and academic knowledge to present a powerful and scientifically grounded voice for athlete safety and a new era of concussion awareness and treatment.
